xTool Smoke Purifier
The little M1 is quite a capable laser indeed. My improvement list would be: 1- air pump needs to be built in to remove any change of detachment or the hose jamming the travel. 2- the riser base made from 1 piece of metal with a drop down front door opposed to 4 separate pots that are quite unstable.
I'm gonna preface this by saying I still like the machine more than if I didn't get it, but I will be looking for something both stronger and quieter once this machine stops working.
I got this a few months ago now and have had a heck of a time making it work properly. It suctions, no problem and I have a good chunk of particles to prove that it does alright on the first layer of the filter, but the filtration isn't as good as I'd like considering I work in a basement with little to no natural air flow.
Since my main use for this right now is to filter smoke from engraving powder-coated steel waterbottles, I was hoping it would remove any and all smell too, but that is NOT the case in the least. I've tried it with several different brands of bottle too and it's the same stink that literally makes my nose sting and run.
Thankfully I have a window near my work station so I can finagle a direct-to-outside setup for the air that comes out of the filter but I was really hoping I wouldn't have to do that. It's also VERY loud in small spaces even on the low setting, so I highly recommend ear protection.
The air purifier with new filters in place works perfectly. Air quality is unaffected when cutting wood. However, once the pre-filter has been used for a few hours, the purifier will beep and air quality declines until it is unacceptable. If you want to buy only the pre-filter, you cannot. You have to buy the set of all 3 costing $200. That cannot be sustained. Plus the filter set are on back order. All Xtool has to do to get a 5 rating is to sell the pre-filters separately at a reasonable price and to have them available.
