The extension kit is very well crafted like the D1 and D1 pro. It has enabled me to expand my capabilities to engrave and cut even larger pieces. I would highly recommend this kit.
I was real pleased how the kit went together. I have done a few projects and they turned out great. The one thing I feel could be better is where the limit switch location for the end by the computer board. With the 20Watt head on the machine the head will hit the frame before the switch will shut it off. By putting new screw holes in the frame this would keep the head from hitting the rail. I plan on moving my switch when I get some free time. I also found the enclosure that came with the extension kit was confusing to set up. I had an old enclosure and now I use both fans at the same time and have no trouble with fumes. Thank you all went well.
As someone with no experience with laser machines, receiving, unpacking, and assembly of the D1 Pro has been exciting and daunting. With my bundle, I received the extension kit, air assist, enclosure, and fire safety because I wanted the ability to do larger pieces of work while being as safe as possible. So, for the extension kit. Although it fit together perfectly, it would have been nice if I hadn't had to remove hardware from the smaller rails and attach to the extension.
For the air assist, I was unaware that the D1 pro had been designed for specific use of the air assist and it still came with a couple unnecessary parts so I had to contact support to find out the laser was pre-designed to work with it.
As for the enclosure, it doesn't fit with the extension and I am not going to be changing out the size back and forth just to make it fit. Would be great if it were designed to fit either size or at least have the option of size.
The fire safety was relatively simple but again the wiring for sensors was tight for placing the sensor box due to the wiring length and using the extension kit. Also with the fire safety, it appears you can use either use it or the air assist but not both. I've not done much with it as of yet but do feel that I will absolutely LOVE what it can do. I am trying to learn about the software so that will take time. I feel with a small amount of tweaking with instructions and information, this would have most definitely been a 5 star.
