Still learning the new module but working as thought. Have not used the extension kit.

I bought the entry level D1 Pro with the 5w diode laser head. I upgraded the head to an infrared type due to the diode not being able to engrave well and was advertised as being able to engrave metal much better. It engraves lightly with the right settings and very specific graphics, but does not engrave deep enough for my needs. I make thin stainless dog tags for tagging equipment, the score feature on the xTool software works but the scoring can be scraped off easily the way our equipment is handled. In hindsight for engraving of stainless I should have went with a faster, high power fiber optic laser instead of going down the D1 route. As for other materials like leather, wood, and some plastics, having both the diode head and IR head to swap out is great for slow, detailed hobby work. Works with laser marking spray but a huge time sink.

Works well. The fold-out gauge to set the focus did not have the proper length from the factory. I was wondering why I got bad result. I get good results if I set the laser about 1mm lower than the gauge.

I love this machine for engraving on glass and metal and some stones so far.
