M1 Ultra is a versatile craft machine. Lightburn is primarily designed for laser use, and connecting it would disable many features and result in a poor experience. Please use our official XCS software for the best performance.
It can print on fabrics, boards, printing paper, and other materials. However, it cannot print on very dense or smooth surfaces, such as metal, glass, and ceramics, because the ink cannot penetrate or adhere. These materials can be processed after applying a suitable ink coating.
I really like and appreciate the modular versatility of the M1 Ultra. The biggest complaint I have and it is a big enough one to make me think twice on recommending it is the small work bed. The M1 has a big enough bed to do most things I like to do and it's smaller on the M1 Ultra which has made many projects frustrating.. the space is there and built in but for some reason it's limited in the software I think.. but it is a great machine for small projects.. I'm looking forward to what xTool Brings out next.. I'm also not sure what I think of this DesignFind integration in the XCS software.. XCS is amazing and powerful, DesignFind, well im still trying to like it..

I'm super happy with my purchase. I got the 20w deluxe package & am a complete beginner to lasers but had experience with cricut so I've been focused on the basics & learning. Its only been a couple weeks & ive only done some basic engraving & cuts with the laser but I'm excited for the future possibilities.
I'm already thinking about different lasers with more material capabilities as I learn more. This machine has totally replaced my cricut maker 3 & made me wonder why I never got into lasers before.
I have been having a blast using the M1 Ultra. At first it was difficult figuring out what pressures to use when cutting but once I figured it out and kept track of it, my projects came out great! The inkjet is great on paper but wasn't as sharp as I was hoping for wood. I love that I can use this inside the house too! I highly recommend looking into it if you want a machine for your home!
